Jana Jenquin awarded certificate of excellence at CNG Symposium

Jana Jenquin, a graduate student in Dr. Andy Berglund’s laboratory, among 9 other trainees received a certificate of excellence, a cash prize and University of Florida paraphernalia for her excellent research poster Jana Jenquin IBS awardentitled “Shaken or stirred: small molecule cocktails are a viable therapeutic approach for myotonic dystrophy type 1” at The Center for NeuroGenetics 3rd annual international Brainstorm Symposium.  The symposium was a two and a half-day event that brought together experts from around the world to discuss various therapeutic approaches in neurodegenerative diseases, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), myotonic dystrophy (DM), Fragile X Syndrome (FX), spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs) and Huntington’s disease (HD).  A large group of posters from graduate students, post-doctoral associates and researchers were presented and judged by an international panel of researchers.

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology congratulates Jana Jenquin on this certificate of excellence!
